Cross roads...

Ok... SPM is now a previous chapter in my life.. Now, I have reached one of the biggest crossroads in my life...
When I ponder about it, I realized that I have taken my school life for granted. During those times, I could have fun with my friends and study without having to worry about the big picture. Now, I'm at the end of the tunnel and I have to choose which lane to go from now.
Right after getting my results, I'm now in a dilemma of choosing between scholarships, UTP and Form.6. Clearly, college is totally out of the question ( How am I gonna pay up their &$#$% fees?? I ain't rich, man).. Form.6 is a good choice but I'm just tired of the freakin' rumours being spread around about it... There is no guarantee for scholarships but I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst..
Clearly, everything has its ups and downs. Right now, I can just put my whole faith in God and have faith that He will guide me along the path that He has designed for me. =) So, I'll just put my best foot forward without any fear or anxiety.

D-DAY!!!!

Well, that day finally came...after 3 months, its time to close the curtains on SPM!!!!!
I arrived at school at around 10.00am.. Along the way, there was a radio ad congratulating everyone on their success in SPM...=.='... WE HAVEN'T EVEN RECEIVED THE RESULTS YET!!! =.='..They're really smart to do so .. Anyway, when I arrived at SMI, the results were still not out yet ( even though the newspapers said 10.00am).. Well, I killed time by chatting and meeting up with long lost friends ( is that term even appropriate considering I haven't met them for only 3 MONTHS!?!)
After 1 long agonizing hour that was full of TENSION.... the results were out... I was the 5th in line... Around me, I saw friends who shouted for joy while others had that look of disappointment on their face...
Then, my turn came.... there was a new teacher giving out our certs since our class teacher transferred to a government school this year. This was it. The moment when I would find out whether I made it or broke it..Then, he passed me my slip...
And I was stunned... I did it. I managed to get straight A's... What's more, I managed to achieve A+ for my BM... I was astonished. BM was my worst subject and I managed to get A+...O.O...Anyway, even though I got A for my bio and moral, I was happy and satisfied with my results and I thank God for seeing me through my SPM examinations.. However, even though I am satisfied with my results, I'm not gonna let it go to my head. It's just a step in life and I will be encountering many other examinations in life. So, gotta try harder in my future undertakings...
To the rest of my friends, congratulations on your results. To those who did not get what they wanted, this is just one step in life. So, don't give up and do your best in your future undertakings...=)

Outing before D-Day

Wow, the day before our SPM results was a great day. Thanks to my friends, we had a blast
The outing started at 2.30pm, I met Kah Chun first. Then, Lippy, Li Fatt and Por Yin joined up with us. Then, it was cc time.... While playing one round of DOTA, Jia Kai came... Then, we had a blast playing COD 4 multiplayer... I really loved the game mechanisms. However, it was a shame we got pawned by the cashier and the other pros in the cafe...=.='
Once our time was up, we went to the food court to ' yam cha', before walking around Jusco. At 7, we then had dinner at Michaelangelo. Thanks to Jia Kai and his Kancil, we didn't need to waste time walking there. Dinner was great and we decided to take a few shots there for memory sake....
Later on, Lippy and Jia Kai had to leave. So, me, Li Fatt, Kah Chun and Por Yin decided to spend the rest of the time chatting at Jusco. We then left at 9.30pm.
Overall, it was a fun time and I would never forget this day. Moreover, I am now a fan of COD 4 multiplayer ..XD...
I was like, why does he need eat while posing??

Randoms

Throughout the long holidays, my brain would have rotted if I hadn't done this. However, this work was also enough to throw my brain into pure confusion...XD

Please be noted that this took a long time to finish and this is just one page !!

On the bright side, this was what I saw when I went back to school
To those who still don't get it, Godzilla (the mini version) has invaded SMI

On that day, I managed to download a photo editing program from the android market. This was the masterpiece that I created after fiddling with the program

Lol ! It might be a bit lame but it's kinda creative

Oh well, holidays have started and my friends have just returned from national service. So, happy holidays and to my friends who have just returned, Welcome Back !!! .Hope you enjoy the holidays for now XD

Area Competition 2011 : Part 2 - The End

Today was the 2nd and last day of the 7th Annual Area First Aid and Nursing Competition. Today was the day when some teams went home victorious. Others went home with heavy hearts while a few ( like me XD), went home with mixed feelings.
As usual, I arrived at hq early in the morning. This time, it was 7.30am by the time I arrived. Then, I made my way to the nearest mamak as Don and Wai Hoong were there. While they were eating, Yoong Xiang and his dad joined us. They were then kind enough to sent us back to hq. [ Ed: Thanks, sir and thanks Yoong Xiang =)]
The competition kicked back into action at 8.00am. While the members were starting to get cozy with the quarantine room, we started the day by preparing the front of hq for the stretcher drill category. We the had to escort the teams to the respective locations.
Today, there was a lot more work to do. I helped out by guiding the nursing teams to the treatment room for the home nursing category. Everything went well even though there was a slight miscommunication between me and two officers.
Jonathan, Wilson, Chung Wai and Yu Xuan were there to spectate. In the end, all the teams were ready by 11.30am. While they were being ushered into the hall, we had to pack things up.
The closing ceremony began at 11.45am. However, before it began, we were already gone XD. We went to YMCA for lunch before we ( except for Don), returned to hq. Luckily we were in time to discover that Yuk Choy and Poi Lam won overall champion for adult and cadet category respectively. Meanwhile, Ave Maria nailed it once again by dominating the entire nursing category. During this time, I felt a tinge of sadness as the trophy that we have won last year was passed to the adult team from Yuk Choy Noooo!!!!!:-( Oh well, we'll get it back next year XD.
Overall, this years competition was an eventful one. It was fun participating in it from a different angle and even though the number of teams that participated in it was less than last year and the hall was too quiet when the cases were going on ( of course la, no SMI wor XDXD), I still felt the competitive atmosphere and am happy to have helped out in this year's competition.
Thank God that the competition went well without a hitch and congratulations to the winners for a job well done. Good luck to all the teams that will be advancing to the state level.

Area Competition 2011 : Part 1

For three years, I have been a participant in this competition. Thanks to my team and my trainers, we were able to gain many awards and experiences during these past three years. This year, I have decided to take part in the competition as a steward.
I reached St. John Ambulance headquarters at 8.00am. Donivald, Wai Hoong and Boon Kong were already there. Since Boon Kong was involved in the administration section, he was already at it as he was helping the competitors to register for the competition. Cham wasn't there as he had fever (Ed:  Happy birthday, Wen Wen and get well soon =)). I hope he gets well soon. Meanwhile, we, Don and Wai Hoong were still waiting for the competition to start as our duties as stewards only began at that time. This year, I was surprised to discover that there are only 5 ambulance teams taking part in this competition... Yeah, it was a big shock. There were only two teams in Adult and three teams in Cadet...
Later on, Justin, Wison, Chung Wai and two senior members came to hq to return the trophies that we have collected last year back to be won again by other teams. They were also there as spectators for the competition.
Anyway, the competition kicked into action at 9.00am when the competitors started to prepare themselves for the uniform checking and marching category. This was a big change as this event usually took place in the afternoon. At 10.00am, the marching category started. That was when our job started too. It was not really much. We just had to organize the competitors after they have completed their uniform checking and usher them to the marching ground when their turn comes. After informing the timekeeper of the team's code and waiting for them to finish, we then had to usher them to a counter so that a check can be commenced on their first aid kits.
After all that was said and done, me, Don and Wai Hoong were tasked to clean up the treatment room as it was the venue for the home nursing category for the nursing teams. There was a quite a lot of humour going on when we were given a mini vacuum cleaner to clean the moderately-sized room...lol.. But it was better than using brooms and dustpans.. However, we had to use them eventually when the vacuum cleaner overheated...=.=... Anyway, during that time, the highest individual category was going on and the competitors were in the hall..
The competition was then adjourned at 12.45pm.... To me, this year's competition is great. The adult and cadet members' performance was great. I am looking forward to see their performance in the stretcher drill and first aid categories tomorrow....

Ps: Sincere apologies for not posting any photos of the first day..

Updates

Recently, there has been many disasters going on in this world.... Earthquakes in Christchurch, Chile, China and now, Japan... There has also been a volcanic eruption in Hawaii.
The situation may look grim but we should always hope for the best and pray to God for the people and that these countries and may they be able to restore the homes and cities...We must have faith and believe that it will be done....
Anyway, tomorrow's the area competition...This year, SMI will be absent from the competitors list... Anyway, it's still something I'm not gonna miss... So, I'll be there tomorrow as a helper...XD....
Besides that, life has been going on as normal.. SPM results will be out in another fortnight.... Anyway, I'm hoping for the best.. and expecting the worst...
That's all the updates for now...Cheers..
